Our partnerships

Nicaraguan Specialty Coffees collaborates with various coffee producers to improve market access, increase returns, and promote greater transparency. The overview below shows the partnerships currently in progress. See Our approach for more information on how we work.

This family-run farm has recently come under the management of the next generation: Andrea Herrera. NSC is supporting her in taking the first step toward better market access by helping prepare the coffee for export and having it analyzed at a dry mill. In addition, NSC is assisting in the preparation of a trial to produce a Natural from the Parainema variety in the upcoming harvest. Meanwhile, the family is replanting with coffee varieties that are more resistant to heat, drought, and coffee leaf rust. They are also working on maintaining and improving forest cover and shade within the farm itself.

This large coffee farm is managed by the brothers Julio and Joaquin Solorzano. Our relationship with this plantation goes back 20 years. This year, we are having a sample analyzed by a Q grader to assess how well the coffee aligns with the European market, and we are providing assistance with the rehabilitation of their wastewater treatment system.

We are initiating several new collaborations. These will be available here shortly.
