Overview of available coffee

As part of its mission to promote Nicaraguan coffee, Nicaraguan Specialty Coffees keeps track of which Nicaraguan green coffees are available in Europe. This overview is updated monthly and is not directly linked to the suppliers' inventory systems, so it may occasionally be slightly out of date.

We offer both roasted coffee and green (unroasted) beans.

Roasted coffee:

Nicaraguan blend

A balanced blend of Pacamara Honey, an Arabica blend from Cooperativa San Juan de Rio Coco, and Brazil Mantiqueira Mountains. This coffee shines both as an espresso and as a filter brew.

The base of this blend is the Regional Select from UCA San Juan del Río Coco. This is a so-called Unión de Cooperativas—a union of various coffee cooperatives from the San Juan del Río Coco region in northern Nicaragua. We sourced this coffee through Sucafina. The Regional Select is a blend of different Arabica varieties grown by the small-scale farmers affiliated with the cooperative.

The Pacamara Honey from Luis Alberto Balladarez adds soft and sweet notes to this blend. This coffee was sourced through The Coffee Quest from Luis Alberto Balladarez, owner of the Un Regalo de Dios farm and the Las Segovias dry mill. This farm has mastered the art of producing excellent coffee and has consistently scored highly in the Cup of Excellence over the years. The Coffee Quest provides outstanding traceability for this coffee, including transparency about the price paid to the producer.

The third component of this blend is a Brazilian coffee from the Mantiqueira Mountains. Sourced through Sucafina, this coffee adds a bit more body and strength to the Nicaraguan Blend.

Espresso Segovia

Espresso Segovia is an everyday espresso blend. It’s made from an SHG specialty blend of Arabica coffees processed at the Las Segovias dry mill. The coffee comes from various farms owned by Luis Alberto Balladarez and is all processed at Las Segovias—a mill with years of experience in producing outstanding coffee. The farm and mill have consistently scored highly in the Cup of Excellence. The Coffee Quest ensures excellent traceability and full transparency regarding the price paid to the producer.

Espresso Volcán

Espresso Volcán is a distinctive espresso blend—a bold cup with sweetness and notes of red fruit, thanks to the inclusion of a Natural.

The blend consists of two origins.

The base of this blend is the Regional Select from UCA San Juan del Río Coco. This is a Unión de Cooperativas—a union of several coffee cooperatives. The UCA is based in the San Juan del Río Coco region, in northern Nicaragua. We sourced this coffee through Sucafina. The Regional Select is a blend of various Arabica varieties grown by the small-scale farmers affiliated with the cooperative.

In this blend, the Red Catuai Natural from Un Regalo de Dios and dry mill Las Segovias brings a distinctive note of sweetness and red fruit. This plantation has mastered the production of excellent coffee for many years, consistently achieving high scores in the Cup of Excellence.

This coffee was purchased via The Coffee Quest.  The Coffee Quest ensures excellent traceability of this coffee and provides transparency about the price paid to the producer.
