Who are we?
Marko Sas
Marko originally trained as an environmental process technologist and first encountered coffee processing in Nicaragua in 2005 during a project to treat wastewater on a coffee farm. He has worked on various projects with organizations such as Solidaridad and UTZ Certified (now Rainforest Alliance), contributing to the development and implementation of best practices for sustainable and high-quality coffee processing in Central America.
In the Netherlands, he completed the SCA Coffee Expert program at ITC Academy and founded Nicaraguan Specialty Coffees with the aim of promoting Nicaraguan coffee and continuing his work in supporting coffee producers.
- His goal: to provide the plantations and cooperatives he got to know through the projects with better access to the market and to help them achieve higher and more stable returns from their coffee.
- His favorite: any Nicaraguan coffee where you can taste the care that went into growing and processing it.
